After almost ten years of commissioned sculpture projects and working the outdoor arts and crafts East Coast show circuit from their country house in Bethany (near the Guilford-Rockingham County line), Brad and Tammy Spencer moved to their new [Reidsville] residence upstairs at the corner of SW Market and Settle streets in 2004.

In January, 2007, they bought a two-story brick building adjacent to Teresa Phillips’ Everyday Art Gallery. They had seen what blossomed at Phillips’ gallery, and wanted to provide additional display space on the street. Soon after totally renovating the interior, they formed a working relationship with the Fine Arts Festival Association (FAFA), the artists’ membership group in Rockingham County with a 63-year history of organizing shows in various venues. Together with FAFA, the Spencers approached the Reidsville city council with a proposal to house, rent-free, FAFA’s ground floor offices and gallery for one year....
