Brenda Dougherty has no formal education in photography … her skillfulness in the art has been self taught. She looks for images that catch her eye – the vibrant colors of flowers, the shapes of trees, the flow of a landscape, the depth of light. That complexity of light is what Dougherty first fell in love with in a picture. After snapping a photo of her then 12-year-old son John, she realized the concentration of light on his face had captured his spirit. Being able to get the essence of subjects on film sparked her interest and she endeavored to learn more about photography. . . . .
