2008 FESTIVAL OF TREES
Benefiting Brenner
Children's Hospital
Forty-five decorated seven-and-a-half-foot trees, twenty-four decorated miniature trees and twenty-four decorated wreaths will highlight the 2008 Festival of Trees. Community volunteers have donated their time and creative talents to decorate the trees and wreaths which have a one-of-a-kind theme expressed through ornaments and decorations. The large trees are pre-sold for $550 and the wreaths and miniature trees are available for purchase at the Festival.

The Festival of Trees is on Saturday, November 22 from 9am-6pm and Sunday, November 23 from Noon-5pm at the Education Building on the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. This year's Festival Chairs-Evan Dunnagan, Jamie Stacy and Shannon Wilson and their committees started meeting early in the summer to begin planning for the Festival and hope to see you there.
Highlights of the Festival include:

-Children's Activities including face painting, making reindeer food, tumbling with The Little Gym, making a craft with Gymboree and other craft projects.

-Children's Shoppe where children can do holiday shopping for family, teachers and friends.

-Gingerbread Village with 22 decorated houses, barns and churches available through silent auction decorated by local chefs, artists and community members.

-Autographed Celebrity Ornaments such as Ina Garten, Coach Dino Gaudio, Richard Petty, Jack Nicklaus, Kasey Kahne, Coach Roy Williams, Arnold Palmer, America Ferrera, Rascal Flatts, Chris Daughtry, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jay Leno, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Chris Paul, Jeff Burton, WFU Men's Basketball Players and Coaches, Alan Jackson, Kyle Busch, Kate Bosworth, Angela Bassett, Anthony Hopkins, Coach Jim Grobe, Coach Mike Krzyzewski and many more available through silent auction bidding.

This year the Community Arts Café will provide a ‘Community Arts Christmas Tree’ featuring art work ornaments from artists around the Piedmont Triad.
Some of the participating artists inlcude Leo Rucker, a Winston-Salem mural and portrait artist whose public works can be found in many Triad cities. Karen Fridy from Lewisville, a fiber artist who is also part of a fine art quilting society, the Beecassos. Stained Glass artist, Diane Murry from Mebane; Barbara Cullen, Arts Exhibition Coordinator for Davidson Community College and Jeremy Sams, multi-'canvas' painter of Archdale.

Also included are Bob Timberlake, Dempsey Essick, Mike Helsabeck, Kim Young, Benita VanWinkle, Dave Teachout, Jennifer Stroud & Maria Colamarino and many more. Be sure to drop by and view this unique tree of the arts!
