Margaret Godwin was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She studied art and design in Charleston, South Carolina, where she was a student of Robert Parnell and Janet Walsh. Godwin is a graduate of the design program at Randolph Community College and has exhibited in numerous group and one-woman shows in North Carolina.

Artist's Statement

The world of art is a world filled with wonder and surprises. Margaret Godwin is an artist who delights in this world—with a talent that is unfolding into maturity. First inspired by the lush gardens of Charleston, where she once lived, she began her art career painting floral watercolors. Today she works totally in the vibrant expression of oils.
