Welcome to the November 2008 issue of The Community Arts Cafe magazine. Cathy and I are excited to share some new information about the CAC publications. As you may have already noticed, the monthly online edition is now in a format that eliminates the lengthy downloads previously experienced using PDF files. This new format will also allow for random access to the content of each issue. This should make accessing and reading of the magazine much easier for everyone, regardless of your particular computer's speed or limitations.

We've also begun using a similar format for the weekly edition as well, which will provide the same high quality content and information in a more easily accessible format.

Around the corner is an all new database driven website that will allow for more interactivity and expanded content for the different areas of the region that we currently cover through the publications. Thanks to our new partner, Scott Plaster, owner of Webyoni web development in Greensboro, we will be integrating this new site over the next several months to help provide the most efficient access to the arts of the Triad. With the help of Scott, we have also begun offering website development services and hosting for arts organizations, individual artists as well as small businesses. Our desire is to provide the highest quality website services to help promote the wonderful arts resources of our community.

In the same vein, we have partnered with Dave Teachout, owner of Going Color print services to also provide high quality print services to the same base of artists, organizations and businesses in the Triad. Be on the lookout for our all new print edition that will hit the newsstands by the 7th of November. This all new, tabloid format will provide Triad arts news, information and events for the months of November and December. We are working to utilize and integrate as many media platforms as possible to provide the maximum exposure for the wonderful arts in our communities. Keep checking the website as we expand into the various areas.

We invite you to join us at the Piedmont Craftsmen's 45th annual Fair on November 15th and 16th at the Benton Convention Center in Winston Salem. This is one of the finest crafts fairs in the country and we are proud to be partners with such a quality group of artisans. Come by our table to see what's new.

We also invite you the Festival of Trees on November 22nd and 23rd where we will have our 'Community Arts Christmas Tree' featuring the artwork ornaments of artists from around the Triad. Come by and support this event that benefits the Brenner Children's Hospital each year.
