Scientific Research Artists of WFU
Research as Art, sponsored by the Wake Forest Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the WFU Graduate Student Association, seeks to increase awareness of the extensive research occurring at the university, while reflecting the wide range of talent found within its ranks of graduate students. The collection includes photography, microscopy, and other images of the science performed in laboratories right here in Winston-Salem. Each piece is a vibrant display of science in all its glory and features some of the more unseen aspects of a life in science. The display also reiterates that art and science are not mutually exclusive, but rather that there is art in science, both simple and glamorous, to be found all around us...
The world of science is sometimes a confusing and abstract concept to the general public as their exposure to science is limited to what they watch, read, or hear from mainstream media...
MEET THE ARTISTS!
The works of the WFU research artists will be on display at Chelsee's Coffee Shop, 533 N. Trade Street in Winston Salem for the month of August and an opening reception will be held on August 1st from 7pm to 10pm in conjunction with the First Friday Gallery Hop.
