The Paintings of
ROBERT RUCKMAN
To start a new series of art exhibits at Fabian's Restaurant Opening Wednesday, November 12th
"We are on the verge of a creative renaissance that will be like a supernova."
  1. H. Clow

My art is the result of a powerful spiritual appearance of a 3 faced divine being who communicated by flowing living etheric colors through the room and my body. Forever changed, the spirit led me on a quest to create and birth a new way of painting, choosing to express what my soul sees: swirling, luminescent colors encured with layers of meaning and power.

This experience taught me to magically transduce paintings. I practice soul plane evocation within interlocking Pythagorean forms drawn on each canvass, setting the intention, magnetizes the spirit to manifest the images you see.
Fabian's Restaurant is adding one more element to its already artistically pleasing palate that will further complement one of the finest dining experiences in the region. On Wednesday, November 12th from 5-7pm Fabian's will host an opening reception for its first exhibit of local art.

The restaurant's owner, Bill Smith (successor to Fabian Botta) is excited to integrate this new element to the already superb blend of delectable food, the finest of wines and most intimate atmosphere in the Southeast.
The first exhibit will feature local artist and long-time friend of Fabian's, Robert Ruckman. Ruckman's method of abstract painting is unique and carefully executed to produced remarkable results. Robert Ruckman was previously featured in the October 2006 issue of The Community Arts Cafe magazine. A portion of the story follows:

After he has the name involved, he opens himself to a variety of ways to experience the concept of the painting. "I lay crystals on my canvases and I do mantras or invocations that I think are very powerful; I use dance and I use music; I use whatever I can to make me very happy and joyous," he laughs. "I know my paintings are complete when I feel very joyful."

Ruckman says his better paintings are the ones that go faster and go easier; the ones he doesn't try to manipulate too much or over-control. He just lets it flow and gets out of the way, and it comes right through him, painting after painting.

He sums it all up simply. "I think everything has light in it and I'm just trying to express the light. To me, it's all divine. I love life. I think the fearful view of life is not worth living, but I think the loving view of life is dynamic and creative."

The thing you must know about Robert Allen Ruckman's work is that it is a jubilant, passionate, inspired celebration of life. "Because I consider myself a self- or soul-taught artist, I give all power and recognition to my soul as my teacher, my master, and I'm doing my art to bring a bit of heaven to earth".

He says anyone could do it. It's a matter of awareness and of tuning in to your own inner nature, which is totally loving and has all the answers. "It's just that most people are scared of the uniqueness of their own life; they're scared to be their own individual," he muses. "But no two people think alike, feel alike, act alike… I just recognize that and I'm very fortunate that I recognize it."
Ruckman feels a lot of his paintings are complete at conception and all he does is channel them. "My paintings are co-creations," he says. "Every painting I do, first I draw the name or the seal of what I want to paint on the canvas. It's just like me calling your name and you would come or answer. So by me knowing the spirit or the idea that I want, it's a very flowing form and the energy just comes in."

Tom Patterson, respected art critic wrote: "Fifty years after Pollock's death, it's still one thing to try such a free form approach to painting and quite another to pull it off successfully. The artist who manages to produce visually compelling results from such a process is few and far between. Among them is Robert Ruckman."
