'She's Got A Living' by Michael 'Zoo' Zeoli
Michael "Zoo" Zeoli began playing piano and writing songs at the age of 15 in Wilmington where he grew up. With a bachelors degree in piano performance from the NC School of the Arts, Zoo continues writing and performing his own material in and around the Winston Salem area as a solo artist and with his band, 'Joe Next Door.'
Joe Next Door is made up of Chad Morris, guitar, vocals and bass; Jeff Reinhardt, drums and mandolin; Kevin Plybon, bass and guitar; and Zoo on piano, guitar, mandolin and vocals. The original music is a quirky pop/rock, sometimes straight ahead driving anthems full of guitar and sing-along choruses, sometimes delicate piano creations that give away Zoo's classical background. Joe Next Door always delivers a memorable show. Chad and Zoo have been playing music together regularly for three years, both bringing years of their own experience in the local scene. Chad, having grown up in Spain, brings a natural latin relaxation that plays well off of Zoo's natural intensity, and his harmonies and guitar lines add a lot of depth to Joe Next Door's sound. Kevin, the brilliant thinker and classical guitarist adds solid grooves underneath everything from wispy haunted songs about ghosts to little floating waltzes about waitresses. Jeff and Zoo formerly played together in another local original band called 'Suitcase.' As it has been in all his other projects, Jeff's clever, interpretive drumming is the ground beneath the band's feet, and he always makes it an exciting place to be.
Joe Next Door: songs you've never heard, that you'll never forget.
